Have you heard of bitters? They have been around for a long time!
Bitters are herbs that taste bitter! They trigger our bitter receptors on our tongues - which are located on the posterior half of our tongue. Here are some quick educational slides on them!
Bitter receptors are found throughout the body and have very important roles!
From nutrient absorption to hormone balancing, incorporating bitters into your daily diet is important. They help reduce over eating, help detoxify your liver and skin - help with indigestion - Take at least twice a day, but 3 times would be best about 30 minutes before a meal. Standard Process has a bitter tablet that you can suck on for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and swallow that has a powerful blend of Wormwood, Tangerine, Gentian, Feverfew, Ginger - all bitter herbs that have so many health benefits - fighting off parasites, decreasing inflammation, supporting gut health, reducing headaches -
Earthley Wellness' bitter ingredients are definitely more mild: dandelion, cinnamon, orange peel, and fennel - however, it's safe for ages 1 and older, pregnancy, and during breast feeding.
